The Town of Indian Trail maintains a Council-Manager form of Government. The role of the Town Clerk is to maintain a recorded history of government actions, serve as custodian for all permanent records, maintain ordinances, publish legally required notices, and coordinate meetings and agendas of the Council.
Trena Sims has worked for the Town of Indian Trail for more than 17 years in various roles. In her role as Town Clerk, she works in conjunction with the Town Manager, the Town Attorney, and the Council to ensure the Town adheres to North Carolina's Open Meeting Laws and also works with staff to ensure other procedural legal requirements are met when preparing for and conducting the business meetings of the Town.
