About

Tom Amburgey was elected to the Indian Trail Town Council in November of 2021 for a four-year term. He was also named as the second alternate delegate for the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) and as the second alternate delegate for the Centralina Regional Council at the Dec. 14, 2021, Town Council Meeting.

Council Member Amburgey chose to run for a council seat because he believes that to make a change and stop corruption in politics, you must start locally, and he wants to make a positive impact for our residents. Not one to sit idly by, Council Member Amburgey is eager to get to work on creating a downtown that will become a focal point for Indian Trail and set the Town apart from surrounding communities. He wants to work with his fellow council members, Town staff, the residents and elected officials regionally and statewide to ensure Indian Trail remains one of the best places to live in the country.

Council Member Amburgey is a native of Middletown, Ohio. He moved to North Carolina in 1999 and has been a resident of Indian Trail since 2002, along with his wife and two sons. He is a veteran, having spent eight years in the Army. He has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years.
