The Veterans Memorial Garden officially opened on May 27, 2019, fittingly, Memorial Day. Veterans, their families and community members now have a place to gather and reflect on our heroes’ service in Indian Trail.
The Memorial includes seating areas, educational materials, a POW-MIA monument and flags representing every branch of the Armed Forces. The project was designed by Indian Trail staff with input from the community and was constructed by the Indian Trail Public Works Department.
“We see every day the impact our veterans have on Indian Trail and on the future of our community,” said Indian Trail Town Manager Patrick Sadek. “This project honoring their service and sacrifice is long overdue, and we are honored to be able to make this a reality for them and our residents.”
Support the Veterans Memorial Garden
Community members are able to continue supporting the project and honor a loved one by purchasing an engraving of the name, date of service and branch of service of a veteran, with all proceeds benefiting the Memorial. Engravings can be dedicated to current military members or those who have completed their service.
Engraving donations start at $100, with all funds raised through the purchase supporting the upkeep of the Memorial. Call 704-821-5401 and ask for Trena Sims, or email TSS@indiantrail.org for more information on making a donation in a loved one's name.
