Small business leaders and those interested in opening their own business can get some pointers later this month at an event tailored specifically to them.
The Union County Chamber of Commerce will bring its Small Business Summit to Indian Trail on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event, which is free to attend though registration is encouraged, will take place in the Indian Trail Town Hall Community Center.
Small business leaders and entrepreneurs will learn about free resources that are available to help in starting a new business, growing an existing business, and running a business more effectively. It also will be an opportunity to connect with other business owners, the Town of Indian Trail’s economic development coordinator and experts with the Union County Chamber of Commerce and Small Business Center of South Piedmont Community College.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to work closer with Indian Trail’s business community at this event and help these entrepreneurs realize their dreams of growing a successful small business,” Union County Chamber of Commerce President Pat Kahle said. “Small businesses are the backbone of any town, and Indian Trail is truly unique when it comes to the great diversity of their small business community.”
Indian Trail leaders hope local businesses and those considering opening their own business will consider taking this opportunity to see what resources are available to them in the community.
“With a tax rate of only 18.5 cents, easy connectivity to two airports, numerous transportation projects in the works and a helpful, supportive Town staff ready to assist, there’s no better place in the Charlotte region to open a small business right now than here,” Indian Trail Director of Communications Mike Parks said.
