Indian Trail’s biggest event of the year is happening on Saturday, June 1! Family Fun Day will take place from 2-9:30 p.m. at Crooked Creek Park (5900 Oakwood Lane). The event includes free rides, games and entertainment, food trucks, and local vendor tents, plus a spectacular fireworks show to wrap up the fun.
There will be no on-site parking at Crooked Creek Park, as the rides, food trucks, vendors, and emergency services vehicles take up all the available parking. Those attending will need to take a free shuttle from one of the following locations:
- Poplin Elementary School
- Porter Ridge Schools
- First Baptist Church of Indian Trail
- Union Prep Academy
Handicap parking will be available at Sardis Elementary School for those with the appropriate state-issued handicap permit. ADA shuttle service will be available at this location. If space is available, guests can also park at Sardis Baptist Church and walk to the park. There will be NO parking at KinderCare.
Shuttles will begin running at 1:30 p.m. and will continue through 10:30 p.m. The shuttles will make a continuous loop and are expected to run between each location every 15-20 minutes. No dogs, except for service dogs, will be allowed on the shuttles.
In addition to the park’s splash pad and playgrounds, families can enjoy several rides and attractions, including a giant Ferris wheel, giant swings, spinning cups, a rock wall, a trackless train, and more. There will also be free carnival games, prizes, a free balloon artist, and face painting.
Approximately a dozen food trucks will be on site serving everything from pizza and BBQ to fair favorites and sweets and treats. The day will also include a variety of live entertainment, including four bands scheduled to play throughout the day and magic shows at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin around 9:15 p.m.
In preparation for the event, Crooked Creek Park will be closed on June 1 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., when the event begins.
The Town of Indian Trail and Indian Trail Parks and Recreation would like to thank Novant Health and Allegacy Federal Credit Union for sponsoring this year’s event.
